What Calm Social holds, and why.
Calm Social helps a business owner read and answer their Instagram comments. The short version: we store only what the product needs, we never sell or share it for advertising, you can export all of it in one click, and deletion is real deletion.
What we collect
Your email address (sign-in only — there are no passwords). When you connect an Instagram professional account: the access token Instagram issues (encrypted at rest, never shown to a browser), your Instagram username and account type, and the posts and comments the product reads on your behalf. What you create in the app: reply drafts, published replies, scheduled posts, uploaded images (re-encoded with hidden metadata such as GPS stripped), your voice and business-facts settings, and an audit trail of actions you took.
How it's used
Comment text is sent to Anthropic’s Claude models to be classified (kind / needs a reply / hostile / spam) and, when you ask, to help draft replies or captions. That is the only third-party processing of your content. Nothing is published to Instagram — no reply, no post — without you approving the exact words first.
Where it lives
On our server’s storage hosted with Railway in the EU (Amsterdam). Instagram tokens are encrypted with AES-256 before touching disk. Data is retained until you delete it.
What we never do
No selling data, no advertising use, no sharing beyond the processing named above, no reading accounts you didn’t connect, and no posting without your explicit per-item approval.
Your controls
Export: Settings → Data & privacy → “Export everything” downloads all data held about your account as one file. Delete: the same page deletes your account and everything stored — see data deletion for the exact steps. Disconnect: Settings → Connection removes the Instagram link, and you can also revoke Calm Social from Instagram’s own Apps and Websites settings at any time.
